Basti, April 24, 2026:
Opening new doors of higher education and career opportunities for the youth of Purvanchal, Chandigarh University, Uttar Pradesh has officially launched its admission and scholarship portal CUCET 2026 during a press conference held in Basti.

The initiative aims to connect students from the region with AI-driven, skill-oriented, and industry-ready education, helping them compete at a global level.

Addressing the media, Dr. Himanshu Tripathi, Dean Sciences, said that education is rapidly evolving. Along with traditional learning, practical skills, digital expertise, and innovation have become essential. CUCET 2026 has been designed to ensure that deserving students receive opportunities based on merit.

He highlighted that the university is India’s first private AI-augmented multidisciplinary university, offering a curriculum focused on industry readiness from the beginning. The university has signed MoUs with leading global companies such as Google, Microsoft, IBM, and SAS to align education with industry needs.

Additionally, a Corporate Advisory Board comprising over 100 organizations has been established to bridge the gap between academia and industry, ensuring better placement opportunities for students.

On this occasion, the university announced scholarships worth up to ₹50 crore through CUCET 2026, making AI-driven and research-based education more accessible. So far, more than 2,000 students have already benefited from scholarships worth crores.

Focusing on innovation, Dr. Tripathi said initiatives like ‘Campus Tank’ and ‘CU AI Space’ are supporting startups with seed funding, incubation, and patent assistance. The ‘Campus Tank’ initiative was launched by Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, while the ‘Naari’ initiative was introduced by Anandiben Patel to empower women in technology and research.

The university’s AI-enabled smart campus has been developed with an investment of approximately ₹2,500 crore, strengthening both education and research. It has also introduced 22 multidisciplinary PhD programmes in emerging fields such as data analytics, agriculture, cybersecurity, and quantum research.

For the academic session 2026–27, the university has launched 68 AI-integrated programmes, including 40 undergraduate, 16 postgraduate, and 12 lateral entry courses. These programmes are designed to provide practical exposure, future-ready skills, and global career opportunities.

Highlighting its rapid growth, Dr. Tripathi said the university has gained strong national recognition in its first year. Following its inauguration by Yogi Adityanath, several initiatives like Microsoft AI Bootcamps, advanced credit programmes, and research-focused scholarships such as the C.V. Raman Scholarship have strengthened its academic ecosystem.

During the AI Summit organized by the Government of India, the university launched the ‘Quantum for Bharat’ mission to promote leadership in AI and quantum technology. It also organized India’s first AI Healthcare Hackathon, which saw participation from over 5,000 innovators across 1,500 teams.
